Day twenty two – pastoral poems

A poem about nature. Hurrah, no rules about rhyme and line length!!

Have been delighting in nature on my drive to work recently, loving the trees in blossom and the road verges bursting into life, so hope I have succeeded in capturing some of that.

First Crocuses,
flashes of gold and purple
spark in tired grass.

Daffodils and Narcissus
suddenly spear skyward,
illuminating bare verges,

while Bluebells swarm,
infecting woodland,
and chiming between ferns.

Cherry blossom falls like late snow
on Dandelions, who gnash their teeth
at gambolling lambs.

Spring is disrobing,
baring herself before us
under a still-weak sun.
