Day four (catch-up!) – a love poem

Day Four and a love poem without mentioning love. Can’t help thinking of Carrol Ann Duffy’s Onion poem, though I’m sure my offering will be considerably less erudite.
At least there isn’t a rhyme or line length constraint this time – yippee!

Hands
Your hands are
capable hands,
safe hands,
sheltering hands:
calloused from caring,
being particular,
unafraid.
Well-weathered,
coarse as birch bark,
yet somehow gentle
in their precision.
Your hands,
scarred but steadfast,
are a haven
for mine.
